Who cares?

Who cares about the future of the world? Who cares whether we're going to choke to death in our own poisons? Or blow ourselves up with the weapons we spend so much to develop? Who cares? I do, hence my rants and raves here. Feel free to join in with comments.

An immodest proposal

Sorry about the delay in writing - things have been somewhat hectic recently.

Anyway, my idea is that there are a number of different words we use in everyday speech (well, I do, anyway) that are generally banned as obscene and/or have lost their original force.

My suggested replacements to be used in everyday speech:

cheney - as in "go and cheney yourself", "what a cheneying loser" or just "cheney off"

rice - for another four-letter word - both steaming warm substances - "what a load of rice", or just "oh, rice!"

ashcroft - even sounds a little like the word it's replacing - "stupid ashcroft", "what an ashcroft", "don't be such an ashcroft"

rumsfeld - sounds just right for a part of the male anatomy - "what a dumb rumsfeld", "rumsfeldhead", etc.

But what about "bush" - where do we use the Dear Leader's name. Or DeLay or Wolfowitz (that last one's crying out for some use).

Leave a comment if you have better ideas or additions.

Dan Savage, sex columnist, revolutionized the concept of public backlash by naming the foamy by-product of analsex after Senator Rick Santorum, who in April 2003 made a few particularly asinine comments regarding homosexuality.

Since then the phrase "santorum: that frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex" has been forced so successfully into the public lexicon a Google search for the word "Santorum" brings up the official site of the cause

    http://www.spreadingsantorum.com/

in front of Senator Santorums own webpage.

    It can be done.

    I've just defined a "coulter" - it's equal to a dingleberry.
